Shape, Color, Texture
This spring, I decided to work “out of office” (but still always working!) to have a change of scenery and get fresh inspiration for KK Promos. My time in Mexico and Palm Springs reaffirmed the power of playing with shapes, vibrant colors, and rich textures. I look forward to incorporating these elements more with all of you to create some truly unforgettable merch. Read on to learn more about these elements and see what products I’m loving at the moment!
Shape
One of the simplest ways to set yourself apart from what others are doing is to play with shapes. A box doesn’t have to be a strict rectangle, nor a pin a circle or a paperweight a cube. Shapes can communicate everything from order to creativity to inclusiveness to strength. Brand philosophy should extend to every part of merchandise, so identifying customized items whose shapes complement that identity will only fortify your marketing. Challenge yourself to play with form, like with this prism speaker that can be customized in any color!
Color
Bold colors are not only eye-catching and memorable, but they can often invoke an emotional response. Yellow promotes cheer, blue invites calm, and red demands focus. In fact, most clients think color is responsible for brand recognition. I developed a bright water bottle for KK Promos, and receive so many compliments and inquiries about it. Do not fear color – let it tell your brand’s story and get noticed!
Texture
Haptic information, or information gotten through touch by hands, continues to be one of the most crucial elements of creating a positive brand association, even in this digital age. Touching fosters a sense of connection, and when something feels good, that deepens a connection to the item, the brand, and also increases perceived value. I have noticed that tactile merch like soft towels tend to rank among the most utilized products because they are useful with a luxe texture.
